Hej gott folk! Det var ett tag sedean men, de goa pojkarna blev intetsagande ha annu ett bra avsnitt till dig. The GBGBs are back with a very chill lowkey easy review of Swedish director Ingmar Bergman's 1966 avant-garde magnus opus, "Persona". This movie has been referred to as the "Mount Everest of cinematic analysis", so we figured after 120 episodes, the GBGBs are perfectly equipped to take this on! (We were sorely mistaken).

Tuesday Feb 11, 2025
It's another Ryan and Denali bonus joint this week and we're watching Friday the 13th Part 6: Jason Lives! After years of lobbying, Ryan finally got his wish to review one of the Jason movies on the podcast. Denali has never seen a Friday the 13th movie so this is going to go really well I'm sure.
Also discussed: Summer camps, Jason's sense of humor, and the incredible Alice Cooper end credits song for this movie.

Monday Feb 03, 2025
We're back with another Ryan/Denali Bonus review.... This time with Terry Gilliam's TIME BANDITS (1981)! Forget what we've said before, THIS movie is an absolute fever dream. Nothing makes sense, nothing seems to matter, and we're not entirely sure if this is even a movie.
Also discussed: Time travel and giving King Arthur a DVD box set of Lost

Twister (1996)

Tuesday Jan 28, 2025
Hop in the Twister-Wagon, we're going STORM CHASING! The GBGBs review the 90's disaster movie classic, Twister (1996) starring Bill Paxton and Helen Hunt. You guys know that Glen Powell movie called Twisters? Well this is basically like a prequel where you find out why the Tornado is so mad.
This movie has everything: Twisters (as advertised), ROMANCE, flying cows (or maybe just the same one over and over), and an original song by Sammy Hagar-era Van Halen.
Also discussed: Ryan's brave close encounter with a tornado, how to stop a tornado, and whether or not Bill Paxton's character's pants should have blown off at the end.

Bonus: Signs (2002)
Monday Jan 06, 2025
Monday Jan 06, 2025
WE'RE BACK. Sort of..... Jace was out of town so Ryan and Denali decided to "swing away" into a review of SIGNS (2002). We believe this decision will bring peace and unity to 2/3rds of the GBGBs brand as this movie brings aliens for Ryan and M Night Shyamalan for Denali. This was the movie that brought crop circles back into the monoculture while scarring an entire generation of children forever with a simple camcorder birthday party scene.
Ryan and Denali also get into it re UFOs, the mindset of the Signs aliens, and the role of earnest-ness in storytelling.

Gosling's Garden - Barbie (2023)
Tuesday Nov 12, 2024
Tuesday Nov 12, 2024
AT LONG LAST the GBGBs review the final movie in the Ryan Gosling season, Barbie (2023). The BTS for this review was a logistical nightmare but we were glad to wrap up the season on a high note with probably the most iconic movie of this decade. The Gos-man plays Ken, whose job is beach, and he also sings a song in an extended dance-off musical number near the end of the movie. If you haven't seen this movie yet, what are you even doing?

Gosling's Garden - La La Land (2016)
Monday Oct 28, 2024
Monday Oct 28, 2024
The GBGBs are BACK with an OSCAR WINNING BANGER. That's right folks, get on your dancing shoes because we're reviewing La La Land. It's a movie about singing, dancing, jazz being dead, and HOLLYWOOD. It's also the third (and best) iteration of the Ryan Gosling/Emma Stone onscreen couple.
Also discussed: Musicals as a concept, writing our own musical, and Ryan's personal connection with the plot of this movie.

Gosling's Garden - Ryan Gosling TV Special
Monday Oct 07, 2024
Monday Oct 07, 2024
The GBGB's are doing another TV Special, this time reviewing Ryan Gosling's earliest roles from two popular 90s TV shows. Gosling stars in a Goosebumps episode titled, "Say Cheese, and Die!" as well as an episode of Are You Afraid of the Dark titled, "The Tale of Station 109.1". The GBGBs are tough critics, but find bits of the RG they know and love in these early appearances. Denali also tests Jace and Ryan's wits as they embark on a 1996 Teen Choice Awards winner-take-all quiz!

Gosling's Garden - The Place Beyond the Pines (2012)
Monday Sep 23, 2024
Monday Sep 23, 2024
Everyone was begging and pleading us to do it, and we finally decided to listen to the legions of fans and do it. We reviewed The Place Beyond the Pines, the 2012 crime epic told in 3 parts for two and a half hours. Everyone has undoubtedly seen this movie so no need for a synopsis, but just in case, Ryan Gosling plays a tatted-up badboy dirt bike jumper who robs banks. Then Bradley Cooper comes in and is like, "hey! Stop!! I wanna be the DA!" and then they both have kids and it becomes another movie entirely. We have to hand it to them, they really saved a lot of money filming a sequel into the same movie.
