The GBGBs are back with another installment of "Litterboxd", their purr-rific cat-movie marathon! This time they review their first Studio Ghibli movie seen on the show, The Cat Returns (2003). This movie stars GBGB alum Anne Hathaway as Haru, a high school student who is brought to the Cat Kingdom after saving the life of a cat prince. Haru then enlists the help of the dashing debonair cat, The Baron, to help her escape the Cat Kingdom and reverse her transformation into a cat. Me-wow!

Litterboxd - Pet Sematary (1989)

Now I know what you're thinkin' now. Don't you even think about it. You wanna click this here GBGB episode and try to hear the review of Pet Sematary (1989). I know you wanna listen to more of the Cat Season but it aint right. The episode's gone sour you see? You'll think it's a GBGBs episode but it won't be right. One of the cohosts will have listened to the episode in a different language he doesn't speak (without subtitles??) and the other two will complain about how there wasn't enough of the cat the whole time. But now I've gone and told you and you're thinkin about it alright. Don't say I didn't warn you....

Bonus - Wild Wild West (1999)

Ryan is out of town this week so Jace and Denali take control of the train and drive it straight to WILD WILD WEST (1999)! Once touted as the most expensive film ever made, WWW stars Will Smith and Kevin Kline as special agents charged with thwarting a plot to assassinate the president in a post-civil war steam-punk America. This movie also happens to be one of the biggest box office flops of all time, so 2/3 of the GBGBs decided to have another look at this thing to see if it deserves a second chance (it doesn't).

Litterboxd - Keanu (2016)

Me-WOW the GBGBs are back with episode 2 of the Cat Season with a review of KEANU (2016). Remember this movie? It's basically a 90 min Key and Peele sketch where two friends try to rescue their new beloved kitty from a ruthless kingpin. The kitten is voiced by GBGBs alum Keanu Reeves, but only for like 3 seconds unlike what the internet told us. The GBGBs also bring back their very ill-advised audio improv segment and discuss whether or not this is a true "Cat Movie" (TM).

Litterboxd - Cat in the Hat (2003)

OH YEAH!! They finally did it folks, the GBGBs are doing a CAT SEASON!! The inaugural episode of "Litterboxd" is our review of the 2003 cinematic masterpiece, The Cat in the Hat, starring Mike Myers as Cat. 

Sally and Conrad Walden are just your average kids in the BORING town of Anneville. But when their Mother goes out of the house for the day, they encounter the mysterious semi-omnipotent eldritch being, Cat. Cat gleefully unfurls a Faustian contract to entangle the kids in a bizarre and disturbing web of chaos to show them the excitement they've always wished for. The GBGBs embark on a STRANGE and TWISTED journey into Dark City this week with their watch of.... well... Dark City (1998)! This movie stars Rufus Sewell as Murdoch, a guy with amnesia living in a bizarre dreamlike city ruled by a mysterious secret order called The Strangers. It is often said that this movie set the aesthetic blueprint for movies like The Matrix and Inception, but what do we know?

Zootopia (2016)

Are you ready to get wild?? Because we're about to pay a visit to Zootopia!  A bustling metropolis filled with businesses, public transit, and municipal bureaucracy! I guess that's not very wild.... But there are animals though! This animated film made a massive splash at the box office in 2016 and we thought it would be a great time to pay it a revisit in light of the recent sequel announcement.

The Adventures of Baron Munchausen (1988)

Despite mixed results with previous movies, the GBGBs embarked on their 3rd Terry Gilliam project with The Adventures of Baron Munchausen (1988)! This movie stars John Neville as our titular Baron who spins a wild tale of his exploits to a beleaguered theater crowd while the Ottoman empire lays siege to their city. To say hijinks ensue would be an understatement. This fella gets into some real wacky stuff. Denali does his best to be fair but did NOT like this watch, but we may have some diverging opinions in the mix this episode.

YARR CLIMB ABOARD MATEYS!! IT'S TIME FOR THE GBGBS TO REVIEW TREASURE PLANET!! This 2002 animated cult classic is due for a rewatch. It stars Joseph Gordon Levitt as young Jim Hawkins, a teen troublemaker who is whisked away on an interstellar adventure in search of the loot of a thousand worlds!

The GBGBs return to review another Ryan favorite, Eyes Wide Shut (1999)! This movie stars Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman as a young married couple navigating their relationship while Tom stumbles into a strange seedy underbelly that he can't seem to stay away from..... EWS is also known as Stanley Kubrick's last film and is HOTLY debated amongst critics. Will the GBGBs like this movie even though it runs almost 3 hours? Will they get to the bottom of this strange mystery?
